Nottingham Forest have a Director of Football.

The winds of change seem to be swirling around the City Ground.

After months of speculation regarding new ownership, maybe we are approaching the end game with the appointment of a Director of Football in the shape of Pedro Pereira.

So what do we know about the chap?

In fairness, the official statement from the club is pretty detailed in terms of his achievements and interestingly, seems at great pains to point out the names of players Pereira has been responsible for signing.

His work with Sporting Braga - where he spent 13 years working as CEO - is to be lauded given their success in the Europa League.

From there he moved to Fiorentina in June 2015. He wasn't there to replace the Viola's Sporting Director, Daniele Prade but to work under the existing management structure. Fiorentina enjoyed a fruitful year, finishing 5th in Serie A, playing some exciting and attacking football (at least for the first half of the season) and qualifying for the Europa League. What's more, this was all achieved while sporting an extremely sexy kit.

His appointment could mean any number of things. Perhaps interestingly, Fawaz's Twitter account was not the first to announce the news, despite him taking to Twitter just two days ago to appeal for patience and calm.

Maybe the wifi router has been hidden. Perhaps the password has been changed by the incoming owner. Regardless, it is to be hoped that this is the catalyst for preparations for the season to finally get underway as no doubt numerous decisions are yet to be made on a number of issues, least of all the identity of the next manager.
