While we were all kicking our heels and spending our Saturday afternoon either watching a local lower league game or walking the dog, Tyler Walker was doing what he usually does..scoring goals.
He turned out for the England u20 team at St. George's Park and played a key role in trouncing their Czech Republic counterparts 5-0. Walker walloped in the first in the 23rd minute and then doubled his tally a few minutes later. He was replaced by Sheffield United's Che Adams after 73 minutes but all in all, he can sit back, kick off his slippers and knock back a large brandy after his fruitful afternoon's work. Job done.
Keith Downing's men will do it all again tonight at Greenhous Meadow, the home of Shrewsbury Town. You can see it for a Fiver if you are interested.
Tyler himself was a very happy young man come early Saturday evening:
Words can't describe how proud I am to have been called up for the England u20s. Amazing experience and great to get 2 goals for the team ⚽️— Tyler Walker (@tylerjandrew1) September 5, 2015
